| ABSTRACT |
Objective:
This study evaluated the knowledge structure of emergency medicine research in Korea.
Methods:
For this purpose, a keyword network analysis was conducted on the keywords extracted from articles published in the Journal of the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine over the past 34 years.
Results:
Nine thousand and nine keywords were extracted and analyzed. Keywords such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, emergency medical service, emergency department, prognosis, mortality, poisoning, computed tomography, cardiac arrest, triage, and ultrasonography were strongly connected with other keywords, indicating their significant roles in the knowledge structure of emergency medicine research. The analysis according to period showed that in the 1990s, the key terms included cardiopulmonary resuscitation, Glasgow Coma Scale, mortality, trauma, and injury severity score. In the 2000s, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, emergency medical service, cardiac arrest, emergency department, and prognosis were prominent. In the 2010s, the key terms were emergency medical service, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, prognosis, mortality, and poisoning. Since 2020, keywords such as emergency department, mortality, COVID-19, emergency medical service, and prognosis have become central to the knowledge structure.
Conclusion:
These findings are expected to provide a valuable reference for emergency medicine researchers in planning and conducting their studies. Furthermore, they are expected to contribute to the further expansion and diversification of emergency medicine research. |
