| ABSTRACT |
|
The frequency of blunt abdominal trauma has been increased according to the development of industry and increase of traffic volume and assault year by year.
So any hope for improved survival after acute abdominal injury requires prompt assessment and surgery.
But physical examination, laboratory test and plain radiography is often unreliable in detect ing intra-abdominal injury, especially in patients with altered mental status or spinal cord inju ry or associated with other severe injury.
This report is retrospective clinical study of 122 cases blunt abdominal trauma which per formed abdominal CT only at the department of Emergency Medicine, Chung Ang Gil Hospital during the period from March 1993 through September 1993.
