A CLINICAL REVIEW OF CORROSIVE ESOPHAGEAL STRICTURE CAUSED BY ACETIC ACID INGESTION

ABSTRACT
Study objective: To compare with the degree of the esophageal stricture and infection caused by acetic acid ingestion. Design: Retrospective, nonblinded, clinical study conducted from January 1990 to December 1994. Setting: The wonkwang university hospital emergency department Result: After we are prospected to the amount of acetic acid ingestion by patient or patient's guardian statement, we are known to eat soft diet below 20mL ingestion of acetic acid, soft or liquid diet between 20-50mL, and no action of swallowing above 50mL. We are also known with the significant correlation between the amount of WBC and the amount of acetic acid ingestion.(P:0.0001, R squared:0.419, Y=126.948X +8283.916)
Conclusion:
We were proposed with the degree of esophageal stricture and infection to visit emergency department caused by the amount of acetic acid ingestion
