Clinical Analysis and Various Problems of the Patients Visiting Emergency Room
Ki Kyung Kim, Kyu Sung Rim
ABSTRACT
We have reviewed the whole matters of the patients who visited the emergency room from January 1 to December 31, 1989 in order to look for a more appropriate management of the system. Through this study, it was found that rapid diagnostic and therapeutic procedures had been performed relatively without delay. But we think that some medical and non medical essential problems should be resolved for a better care of the patients visiting the emergency room. They are as follows :. 1. The emergency room should be an independent system treating only emergency patients in a rapid and efficient way. 2. A laboratory, a radiology room, a cash register desk, etc should be installed in the emergency room. 3. Doctors, nurse and other staff should be provided according to the number of patients. 4. A day hospital system should be established for the patients that require simple but time consuming treatments. 5. We think the most important thing for the hospital is to treat the patients in the most efficient way if possible, thus recovering the patients trust in the doctors.
